THE METHOD
Home Organization in Four Honest Steps: Sort, Edit, Type, Store
SETS is the 4-step system I use in every room of my own home. Short steps, real trade-offs, forgiving on the days it all falls apart.

01
Sort
Pull everything out of the space and put it on one surface. Yes, all of it. You cannot organize what you cannot see.
02
Edit
If you have not used it in 12 months, it goes. Donate, sell, or bin. Sentimental keepers get one small box, not a shelf.
03
Type
Group by how often you actually use it, not what it is. Daily items get eye level. Weekly items get the second shelf. Rare items go up top or down low.
04
Store
Label anything a tired brain will forget in six weeks. Choose containers that fit the shelf you already own, not the ones on a mood board.
Why SETS Beats the Big Weekend Overhaul
Big weekend overhauls fail because life gets in the way by hour three. SETS is designed for short, doable pockets of time. One drawer at a time, one nap or one lunch break at a time. Progress compounds. The house catches up with you, not the other way around. Ready to try it on your first room? Start with the Kitchen and Pantry guide.
