ROOM 01 · KITCHEN AND PANTRY
Kitchen and Pantry Home Organization You Can Reset in One Nap
The drawer, cabinet, and pantry systems I use in my own kitchen after six failed rebuilds. Every step follows the SETS Method.

01 Sort
Empty one drawer or one shelf onto the counter. Not the whole pantry. One zone at a time.
02 Edit
Check expiry dates. Toss duplicates. Anything you have not cooked with in 12 months goes to donate or bin.
03 Type
Group by how you cook, not by product type. Weekday breakfast, weeknight dinner, snacks, baking. Kids items go on the lowest shelf.
04 Store
Measure the shelf first, buy containers second. Label every bin. Leave one shelf empty for grocery overflow week to week.
The 5 Kitchen Zones That Do Not Move
Every kitchen I have organized has the same five zones: prep, cook, clean, coffee and breakfast, and kids snack. Pick a zone this weekend and only that zone. Give it 30 minutes. Do the next zone next weekend. In five weekends your kitchen is done, and it lasts because you built it around your own routines.
